Goods transporters end strike on Sindh govt’s assurances

Goods transporters have agreed to end their strike after holding successful talks with the Sindh govt. The govt. will take back the authority of issuing driving license from the traffic police as per demand of the transporters and will also transfer the powers of issuing driving licenses to the transport department from the traffic police. A committee has been formed to decide for fee structure vis-à-vis route permits and the least fee structure will be approved. Issues regarding fitness of vehicles, route permits and other related issues will be solved by the transport department. The strike that lasted for more than a week caused heavy blockages at seaports.
