The Research & Development department of KCCI was re-initiated in February’13 under the visionary leadership of Mr. Siraj Kassam Teli, Chairman Businessmen Group (BMG) and Former President KCCI, whose dynamic guidance turned this vision into a reality. Since then, the revamped R&D dept has been working diligently to prepare quality research and serving the needs of the business community. The department provides a wide range of economic and business information to members of KCCI and other relevant persons/departments so that they remain abreast of ongoing business related activities at domestic and international levels. Such information has been of great benefit to the KCCI members, businessmen, politicians, govt. functionaries and foreign diplomats.

Director Research & Development Dept.
Ms. Uzma Taslim is currently heading the Research and Development Dept. of KCCI as Director Research. Ms. Taslim holds more than seventeen years of experience in the financial industry. Previously she served as the Head of Research at Alfalah Securities (Pvt.) Ltd. and as an Investment Analyst at Pak Libya Holding Company, responsible for portfolio management and investment recommendations. She started her career as a Research Analyst at Atlas Asset Management covering a wide range of sectors for research. Ms. Taslim has also worked at National Investment Trust (NIT) as an Investment Analyst, where she also served as a Director of Premium Textile Mills Ltd. from April 7, 2007 to January 5, 2008. She earned her MBA from Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi.
Shehzad Mubashsher Baggia
Deputy Director Research & Development Dept.
Mr. Shehzad M. Baggia has over 12 years of versatile experience conducting cutting edge financial and economic research. The last 5 years of his career have focused on research for development of trade and industry in Karachi with emphasis on Pakistan’s economy, foreign and domestic trade, manufacturing and taxation. Prior to joining KCCI, Mr. Baggia served for 5 years at KASB Fund Ltd where his assignments included Investment Research and Portfolio Management.
He holds an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi, and BS (Computer Science) degree from the University of Karachi.
Asad Bilal Sheikh
Mr. Asad Bilal Sheikh has a background in Finance and Supply Chain Management, having completed BBA(H) from Institute of Business Management (IoBM). Mr. Asad’s areas of specializations include study of Pakistan’s economy, its bilateral trade and trade agreements and analyses of different industries. He is a regular contributor to KCCI’s research publications which include E-Bulletin, Infonalysis and Economic Horizon. Mr. Asad is an excellent team player, loves to take on challenging assignments and harnesses high ambitions to contribute positively to the organization.
Yasir Nawaz Farooqui
Mr. Yasir Nawaz Farooqui is a business graduate from Institute of Business and Technology (IBT). His expertise includes industrial analyses, study of business and industrial trends for identification of business opportunities investor awareness. Before joining KCCI, Yasir has worked as intern in finance departments of Philips Pakistan and AGP Limited. Yasir enjoys doing analytical work on global developments having direct and indirect impact on Pakistan’s economy.
M Kamran Khan
Mr. M Kamran Khan has a background in Finance and Supply Chain Management, having completed his BBA (H) from Szabist. His role in KCCI focuses on research work on various sectors of the global economy with a greater emphasis on Pakistan. His focus is on adding value to the synergy of KCCI’s Research Team by his active contribution to Chamber’s various research products. Kamran is an analytical thinker and a motivated individual with a desire to consistently perform in a challenging environment.
Research Database Officer
Mr. Sunny Kumar is a Computer Science graduate from Bahria University. He is well versed in main programming languages and principles of database design. His responsibilities at KCCI include web, database and graphics development. Prior to joining KCCI, Sunny has interned at National Bank of Pakistan (IT Security), Osaka Battery (ERP System) and Ali Engineering Works (IT). He is a keen developer who strives for best practices in his field. His expertise includes core PHP and MySQL.
