The Research & Development department of KCCI was re-initiated in February’13 under the visionary leadership of (Late) Mr. Siraj Kassam Teli, Chairman Businessmen Group (BMG) and Former President KCCI, whose dynamic guidance turned this vision into a reality. Since then, the revamped R&D dept has been working diligently to prepare quality research and serving the needs of the business community. The department provides a wide range of economic and business information to members of KCCI and other relevant persons/departments so that they remain abreast of ongoing business related activities at domestic and international levels. Such information has been of great benefit to the KCCI members, businessmen, politicians, govt. functionaries and foreign diplomats.

The Research & Development has been playing an instrumental role in the Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry in various areas to bolster the capacity building of KCCI’s key deriving force which includes the BMG Leadership, the honourable Office Bearers, the Managing Committee Members & the Secretariat in providing the valuable input through Data-Driven Policy Analysis, Macroeconomic Developments & Projections, Industry Research, Market Intelligence, Presentations & Knowledge Dissemination & Regional and Global happenings.

The R&D plays a key role in accomplishing the KCCI’s objectivity for boosting Trade, Economic Development and sustainable economic growth & contributed to providing valuable insights & plug gaps in decision-making to foster economic development, raising key issues for the business community. Structured Database for well-informed Analysis and reports. Regularly interact & share ideas with foreign officials/dignitaries & investors to stimulate economic activities. Planned & executed targeted Research on Pakistan’s Economic Performance. The R&D significantly contributes to The Economic Horizon KCCI’s flagship Magazine in various ways, through Newsletters, Country profile and Article which is primarily based on the trade, exports and economic events of the month. Moroever, R&D department has also published working Papers and Pre- & Post-Budget Reports for 2022-23 and has highlighted critical issues in the country.
