The federal govt. has granted 50% waiver in Gas Infrastructure Development Cess (GIDC) payables to fertilizer sector, IPPs, Gencos and the general industry including its captive power units for 7 years (from 1st Jan’ 12 to 31st Dec’ 18) subject to payment of balance GIDC arrears. The decision was taken by the federal cabinet in its meeting held on 24th Jan’ 19, under the chairmanship of PM Imran Khan, on a hurriedly prepared summary by the Petroleum Division.
