Adviser on Finance Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, during a meeting of the Monetary and Fiscal Policies Coordination Board (MFPCB), has expressed concern over inflation, credibility of the data of PBS, and wondered how the unemployment number would be firmed up as no institution was working on it, and numbers quoted are nothing but heresy. Adviser inquired why inflation has not been reducing, and Governor SBP Dr Reza Baqir explained that there was no pressure from demand side. The adviser directed that inflation should be disaggregated after the meeting was informed that there were gaps on supply side.
