US says Pakistan budget lacked transparency

A new report, the 2020 Fiscal Transparency Report by the State Department of the US, has said that Pakistan’s budget lacked minimum fiscal transparency and it also did not adequately disclose all debt information amid a sharp surge in govt’s. contingent liabilities in FY20. It also highlights fiscal risks due to growing losses incurred by Pakistan’s state-owned enterprises. The report assessed those countries which did not meet minimum fiscal transparency requirements.
